New sets of adjustments for Pivotal CRM platform have been published last week. Below, a detailed list of hot fixes:

Pivotal Applications/CMS 5.1 HF01:

  • Resolved issue where Email Management System (EMS) did not function correctly when Update Notification was set for the employee record.
  • Resolved issue where Support Incident did not reopen with a support step e-mail for Email Management System (EMS). The state of the support incident should change to Unresolved.
  • Resolved issue where warning messages were logged in the event viewer each time a user opened a KB record from eService.

Pivotal Windows Access/Windows Client 5.7 SP01 HF02

  • Resolved issue where SmartPortal bar graphs did not display the X-axis labels correctly, if the label text contained a comma.
  • Resolved issue where SmartPortal bar graphs created extra data bars if the Y-axis value was not a whole number and the regional settings were set to French.
  • Resolved issue where the Import component could not Link or Match when imported CSV files contained Japanese characters.
  • Resolved issue where the View filter did not work with queries.
  • Resolved issue where importing RTRs created in earlier Windows Access versions resulted in incorrect values for some imported records.
  • Resolved issue where the size of e-mail files stored in the Pivotal database was larger than expected.

Pivotal SyncStream 5.7 SP1 HF10

  • Resolved issue where, on mobile configurations, in some cases, the computer shut down process took a long time because of the Data Synchronization Manager (DSM).
  • Resolved issue where, the satellite DSM shut down during the Upgrade From Offline System (UFO) process.
     

Pivotal Windows Access/Windows Client 5.9 SP01 HF03 (2 98) 

  • Resolved issue where SmartPortal bar graphs did not display the X-axis labels correctly if the label text contained a comma. This requires Office Web Components version 11 or later.
  • Resolved issue where SmartPortal bar graphs created extra data bars if the Y-axis value was not a whole number and regional settings were set to French.
  • Resolved issue where importing RTRs created in earlier Windows Access versions resulted in incorrect values for some imported records.
  • Resolved issue where Windows Access r5.9 did not save SmartPortal content items in the minimized state.
  • Resolved issue where the Import component could neither Link nor Match when imported CSV files contained Japanese characters.
  • Resolved issue where the View filter did not work with queries.
  • Resolved issue where, when importing a CSV file in which the first line ended with a comma, an additional comma was added at the end of the first line.
  • Resolved issue where sending a Fax by LetterExpress sent an e-mail message to <Rn_Descriptor@Fax_Number>, instead of sending to <Fax_Number>@<email_domain>.com.

How to make Pivotal MarketFirst 5.10 working with Pivotal CRM 5.9?

To ensure a proper coopoeration of Pivotal CRM system with new version of Pivotal MarketFirst 5.10 you need to install a proper hotfix.

Hotfixes for Pivotal CRM v.5.7 and 5.9 have just been published at Pivotal Customer/Partner Portal websites.
Published hotfixes consist of:

  • for version 5.9 – Pivotal Application/CMS 5.9 HF04
  • for version 5.7 – Pivotal Application/CMS 5.7 HF09

The CDC software enterprise has informed in its electronic bulletin about a few facts connected with the integration of new Pivotal CRM Sedna version with MS Office.

The customers who possess implemented MS Exchange 2003 or 2007 server will be provided with a use of MS Outlook functionality directly from Pivotal application, instead of using a traditional MS Outlook client.  In other words, the users will have the opportunity of creating e-mails, planning meetings and activities in the Outlook’s calendar, managing contacts and tasks directly from the Pivotal application. From the other hand, MS Outlook client will be still available and all changes made using Pivotal application will be reflected in Outlook. From the MS Outlook client’s level also the use of database of contacts, stored in Pivotal CRM system will be available.

The customers who have SharePoint Designer 2007 and SharePoint Server 2007 implemented will also have the ability to place new kind of Smart Portals – Pivotal Portal Pages into Pivotal CRM application. Developers of Pivotal system will have an opportunity to prepare predefined portals dedicated to individual business roles – individual for salesmen, customer service representatives, finance experts, and so on.

The users will have a chance for creating their own, predefined webparts sets, in order to create an ergonomic and adapted to their work style portal.

Despite the above-mentioned functionalities, Sedna will be provided with improved mechanisms of integration with MS Office, which are already well-known to the customers:

  • Creating LetterExpress using MS Word
  • The ability of searching the data from Pivotal CRM system directly in MS Office applications
  • The ability to linking e-mails from Outlook to the Pivotal CRM system’s records
  • The ability to export the data to MS Excel

There has appeared an interested Juda Marto’s blog – “CRM Architect – Pivotal CRM and .Net Development” (www.crmarchitect.com) on the Internet.

The blog has existed since April 2007 and contains interested guidelines connected with the implementation of Pivotal CRM system.

Juda Marto is an independent consultant, specialized in designing and implementing CRM systems and Custom Enterprise Applications using Pivotal CRM, Microsoft CRM and .NET Framework. He is Microsoft Certified  Solutions Developer as well as a Microsoft CRM Certified Master.
